Bathers Library Newsletter #10
Community Calendar, Exquisite Films, Poetry, Glitch and Emergency Radio!
Hello! Happy almost-July all! What a jam-packed month! There is a ton going on at the library, as well as locally and… internationally! That’s right, Bathers Library is taking the show on the road (in reverse chronological order) to the SF Art Book Fair (July 10-13) and to Mexico City for the Hardcore Art Book Fair (July 3-6 ). There are some fun new publications on the horizon (more on that below), and some rad events in the space (and a worm-themed-workshop at SFABF with Alexandra Pink and Helen Shewolfe Tseng if you happen to be around the fair Sunday the 13th). Hope to see y’all at all of these (or some of these) things!
SUBMIT TO OUR COMMUNITY PRINT CALENDAR + MINI MAG!

Submit to our community events calendar and mini mag! Got a fun event coming up? A reading or performance or gathering of some kind? Something you’re excited about promoting? Send it on and and we’ll add it to the calendar.
We are also taking submissions for:
1. Mini-essays/reviews. These can and should be about anything. You can write about a movie or a sandwich or your criminal landlord or a protest you went to or a strange experience you had with a friend. An overheard snippet of conversation. Some ancient memory brought to life by the smell of a cookie. You get the idea? Brief instances related to what you think is important or confusing or interesting or infuriating or cool. Be specific. Mundane is great. Extra points for local content (i.e. artists, music shows, local poets, locations etc). Max ~500 words. Sweet spot is probably around 200 words.
2. Brief interviews. Talk to a friend or artist or interesting person you know! These should be brief but maybe should feel like an excerpt from a longer conversation (not like, top ten questions kind of thing)? Probably about 3-10 questions depending on the length of the responses. Max ~700 words (not counting bio).
All accepted submissions may be lightly edited and sent to the author before publication for approval.
The calendars will be risographed here in the space, will be free and will come out the first week of each month. Our first issue will debut at the SFABF on July 10th. Submissions are due for this inaugural issue July 7th. Respond to this email with any questions (and I’ll do my best to get back to you!).
