Spring Fundraiser Lineup!

Y’all! We are just over two weeks away from our first-ever Spring Fundraiser party at Bathers Library!

Bathers is a member supported, community-funded space that hosts dozens of readings, screenings exhibitions, performances, and events each year, along with a busy calendar of reading groups, artist critique groups, library hours, residencies and workshops. We’re 100% volunteer-run, and a total labor of love.

If this community means something to you—if you’ve been in a reading group or to an event or taken a class here—consider making a donation and celebrating with us!

All funds raised from this party will go toward growing our library, expanding our fall programming and providing better compensation for workshop leaders, speakers and artists we work with (and maybe hiring a part time coordinator to help things run more smoothly—we’ll see how it goes)!

We’re putting together an exciting evening to celebrate and support the library! We’ll have music from the amazing(!) Nightjars, a reading from (former resident!) Quinn Edlin, and a dance/performace art moment from the incomparable, Kim Ip!

Plus, we’ll have a drawing to win… somewhat nontraditional prizes donated by some of our favorite artists and community members! (Rather than a physical object, each person has agreed to do some particular action for the winner). We have truly rad donations from: Jenny Odell, Alexis Madrigal, Marcel Pardo Ariza, Brittany Newell, Vivian Sming, David Horvitz, and more! (Thank you all for your support! We love you!)

And, attendees will have the opportunity to bid on naming rights to our library sections—think, like how museums name wings after war profiteers and pharmaceutical ghouls—we’re naming our sections after folks in our community(i.e. you!). Wanna be the benefactor behind our Melodrama or Porn section? Theory? Art Writing? Now’s your chance!

And we’ll have cocktails from Quirk Social and snacks from Beo Beo!

and first-dib naming rights to a library section!

If you’ve ever been to the library before you’ll know that space is limited! Get you tickets will there’s still room! (And even if you can’t make it, you can still donate! Any donation ver $25 will get a print mailed after the event—anything over $50 will get a tote bag).
